This Lenten workshop invites participants to explore the theme of light, drawing inspiration from St. John Henry Newman's beloved hymn.
Lent, deriving its name from the lengthening days of spring, offers a perfect opportunity to reflect on the growing light. The workshop will delve into Newman's autobiographical hymn, considering how light brings life and health, but also challenges individuals to engage in spiritual "spring cleaning." Together, participants will ponder the distinctions between "kindly light" and "garish day," explore what it means to "love to choose," and contemplate the courage required to refrain from asking to "see the distant scene."
This workshop provides a space for self-reflection in God's light while also considering the roles of spiritual directors. Through God's generosity, it is anticipated that participants will discover ample riches and insights to share with those they accompany.
