This workshop explores the profound connection between Spiritual Direction and our relationship with God's creation. As Spiritual Directors, we are called to cultivate a greater awareness of God's presence not only in ourselves and our directees but also in the world around us.
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis calls us to undergo an ecological conversion - the “transformation of hearts and minds toward greater love of God, each other, and creation. Acknowledging our contribution to the social and ecological crisis and acting in ways that nurture communion: healing and renewing our common home.” (Laudato Si’ Movement).
Through the lens of Ignatian spirituality, participants will examine how the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius can foster this ecological conversion. We will explore practical ways to integrate environmental consciousness into Spiritual Direction, helping directees recognise their role in addressing the social and ecological crises of our time. This workshop aims to equip Spiritual Directors with tools to nurture a sense of communion with creation, promoting healing and renewal of our common home.
