In this workshop, we'll explore the unique challenges faced by those in Christian ministry, including managing public expectations and personal vulnerabilities. We’ll explore potential barriers to spiritual wellbeing, together with some of the particular issues that can emerge, and aim to help Spiritual Directors feel more equipped and empowered to walk alongside their directees.
Rev. Andrew Picton & Steph Nadarajah
After 18 years of Baptist Ministry, Rev. Picton left Pastoral Ministry to take up a portfolio ministry that involves working as a Spiritual Director for Church Ministers from the Baptist, Anglican, and Vineyard Church. He also works as a Chaplain at St. Thomas's Hospital in Central London and trains Chaplains at Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospital and Waverley Abbey College. He provides pastoral and teaching support for students on three healthcare courses at London Southbank University. Rev. Picton is a member of the Order of the Mustard Seed, an ecumenical dispersed new monastic order, supporting the preparation of new members and the provision of the Lectio 365 app.
Steph is an Anglican priest and Spiritual Director who trained on the Encounter course. She leads retreats both on Zoom and in-person, and is passionate about bringing spiritual direction to as many people as possible. Her focus is on helping people to connect with God within the lives that they actually lead, rather than the lives they hope for or imagine. Steph's ecumenical faith journey has led her to enjoy working with people from different Christian traditions.
