The practice of Visio Divina follows the same dynamic of “getting to know” as Lectio Divina, but using visual imagery. It offers a rich resource for prayer and discernment—something spiritual directors can usefully keep in their toolbag. But it’s not just a question of “looking at pictures”; it’s about being willing to enter into the story and find a living encounter.
How do we begin? Or, if it’s something we already do, how can we refresh our practice? And how do we teach the practice to our directees?
We’ll address these questions, and more, in a day which will include space for our own reflection as well as discovering resources for our spiritual direction practice.
