Book Club: Reaching Out by Henri Nouwen

We’re launching a new bookclub for LCSD Community Members.

Our book for this term is Reaching Out by Henri Nouwen.

Authentic Christian spirituality, he writes, is a reaching out to our innermost self, to our fellow human beings and to our God, expressed and experienced as three spiritual movements: from destructive loneliness to creative solitude, from fearful hostility to welcoming hospitality and from self-deception to self-surrender to God in prayer. At this time, when loneliness, hostility and self-deception are being so keenly felt personally and culturally, Henri's insights are truly relevant and prophetic. So come and join us to discuss the book as we look at how this can form us and our directees.

We’ll gather together on Tuesday evenings, from 7:30-9:00pm over 6 weeks. It’s a chance to grow together into deeper solitude, hospitality and self-surrender and, in turn, offer them to those around us.
